During the summer months Druid Hills United Methodist Preschool offers 2-four-week summer camps. Children under the age of 5 must be enrolled in our 9-month school year program to be eligible for enrollment in summer camp. All DHUMP alumni and friends ages 5–8 are eligible for summer camp.

Although the summer camp program employs many of the same staff members as the regular school year program, it is a much smaller program and runs independent of the regular school year.   Due to smaller enrollment and staff changes children are grouped differently during the summer camps. Many classrooms have multi-age groupings. The children seem to really enjoy this new experience, both as opportunities to be the “big” kid and also from the other perspective to have older children to look up to and to learn from. It is our goal for summer camp to maintain the security of expected routines while offering easy going, no-stress summer fun.

Summer Camp Reminders:

•  Your child should wear cool, comfortable PLAY clothes and bring his/her own lunch.

•  Don't forget the sunscreen!   Please apply it before arriving at camp.

•  Every day send a labeled water bottle with your child to drink throughout the day.

•  We provide water to drink on the playground but we have found that children are always eager for more liquids at lunch.   Be generous with your beverage serving in their lunchboxes.

•  Remember NO PEANUT products for lunch and snacks.

•  Transition items, pacifiers, blankets, and bottles are welcome!

•  Send diapers & wipes if needed.

•  Your child's teacher will provide you with a calendar listing specifics like snack days, special events, water days, etc.

•  LABEL EVERYTHING.
